During the 60's Bks Iyengar came every year and stayed with Francis & Gloria Loring to give yoga classes in their large music room in London. In the mornings he would visit Yehudi Menuhin (the famous violinist and student of yoga) and sometimes Clifford Curzon (the now deceased concert pianist) and instruct them on the art of yoga.
He meditated whilst posing for his portrait, and was happy to sit for hours without a rest until the painting was finished.
His stay with the Lorings lasted 4 to 5 weeks and they would share peaceful evenings in their home with BKS Iyengar who was at this time compiling the finishing touches to his first book 'Light on Yoga'.
