Sculpted in memory of a descendent of Francis Loring. Carl Filtsch was a cherished pupil of Chopin, an accomplished pianist, and promising composer from an early age, but died before reaching his fifteenth birthday. (28 May 1830 - 11 May 1845)
His family believed his death to be caused by peritonitis.
The Carl Filtsch bronze is at home in the Frederyk Chopin Museum Warsaw.
